Artist Statment: I'm interested in the interplay of the real and the immaterial. What we can perceive visually and audibly in the real world as opposed to what forms in the dark of our minds subconsciously. The chemistry of our brains as it colors our experiences. I think of the video medium as a way to bridge between the duality of our perception by offering possibilities for uniting recorded footage with computer generated images. The process of each type of video is so different, in that they each have their parameters and set of limitations. Recording moments in reality requires an attentiveness to experience, a connectedness with physical elements. Making animated content involves delving into a removed process, where you are grasping for the organic attributes in the technology, in the interaction of it's processes.
