Good, Very Good, 3:30 minutes, black & white, sound, 2009

35mm black and white photography with minimal sound composition and french-on-french subtitles. This video looks closely at the photographs, exploring their space and form, while an outsider makes simple qualitative judgments on the compositions as they unfold. The critiques are positive, then negative, and lastly they begins to ask how much it costs, and how many there are to buy.

At once an integration of video with modernist-style photography. It is a look at the language barriers in art and visual expression, as well as the subjectivity of understanding in art viewing.
